later tonight there is supposed to be 70mph wind and golf ball sized hail what would that be under f1, f2, or f3 or none please help there will possibly be a tornado

Tornados.net Recommends:

None. It would be considered a severe thunderstorm. There has to be a tornado to be rated on the f scale. Here is a link to the tornadoes that we had here 2 weeks ago on April 2nd. They went through our town just 9 blocks west of our home and 1 block from where I work. It was kind of scary!!!Just keep your eyes open and your ears glued to the radio for warnings. Good luck. http://www.997thelake.com/pages/severeweather.html http://www.extremeinstability.com/07-3-28.htm

Check the link below and read the info. F0 Gale tornado 40-72 mph Some damage to chimneys; breaks branches off trees; pushes over shallow-rooted trees; damages sign boards. 70MPH would be F0...........look at the link. I've heard a tornado and they sound precisely like a freight train. Find cover immediately if you suspect or the weather service issues watch. If nothing else a ditch, hole in the ground, deep raven and the second link below is tornado safety info.

a tornado is rated by its wind speed and the amount of damage it creates.

none..Tornados are rated by how much they eat.

that would be a classic SEVERE THUNDERSTORM, not a tornado, a weak tornado (EF-0) has estimated winds of 72-110 mph....just because the wind is blowing at 70mph does not mean you have a tornado. less than 1% of all thunderstorms actually produce tornados, making the likelihood of you actually experiencing a tornado are astronomically low.
