Ok if there was a tornado and i live in an APT building on the first floor where would i hide if there is no basement..!?!?!

If you don't have a basement you will be safe outside laying down in a nearby ditch..... thats what they tell us...... or you can evacuate to a nearby shelter... or move to the furthest side of the apartment building...

I would get out if you have enough time. But if you don't it is recommended to get in your smallest room without windows, preferably a inside room like a bathroom or closet. Grab something to protect your head with to.

You don't need a basement to be safe from a tornado. If one is available by all means go there, but you're already on the first floor of your apartment complex, so all you need to do is secure yourself in the smallest room available with no windows, and take some pillows with you; a closet or the bathroom would be ideal. People in 2-story houses are always advised to get to the lowest level of the house first. DO NOT leave your apartment if you are positive a tornado is nearby. You'd only endanger yourself more, as you could be struck by flying debris. You are safest inside a building. If you simply do not feel safe at your apartment, leave before the threat becomes real and make sure that you don't run into any potential danger on the way to your destination, like if you decide to drive to a friend's house.

Since you are in the lowest level of the building, go into a room where there is no windows.. or use a closet. Use protection by covering yourself with blankets and pillows.. maybe even use a mattress as well. Another random thing: if you know like hours or a day or two before severe weather was a probability in your area, try and tell your neighbors, friends, and family about the approachable severe weather. Also, get things handy such as extra batteries, flashlights, candles, and even a NOAA weather radio.
