Question:

What are tornados called in other parts of the world?

Hurrricane in the Pacific is a Typhoon and in the Middle East it is a Cyclone. So what is a tornado in other parts of the world? Do they even have tornados elsewhere? Is Tornado/Cyclone ever interchangeable?

Tornados.net Recommends:

Tornado and cyclone are not necessarily interchangable. A cyclone is basically a tornado on the water, but it's different from a hurricane (because of the size, and the size of the storm it's associated with). And yes, you can have tornados anyplace that is relatively flat and has thunderstorms and crosswinds.
